Fabrication, Welding and X-ray

There is a wealth of aerospace welding expertise within the Fabrication and Welding department, for both fusion and resistance welding. Through close association with TWI, amongst others, and with an excellent local labour pool to draw on, we have developed the capability to manufacture components with high complexity, made from some of the most challenging materials. We currently weld aluminium, titanium and many different type of steels.

Hyde Group’s philosophy of empowering each business to succeed is clearly demonstrated in this highly technical business. All the processes that complement aerospace fusion/resistance welding (including x-ray, non-destructive testing, pickling, swaging, pressure test, etc) are available within the one facility. This enables the department to manage the risks that are associated with the welding process. The department is also fully approved by our customers and the relevant industry bodies.

Our Welding facility comprises of the following equipment:

• 1 x Hydration Pressure Test Unit (up to 100 PSI)
• 1 x Hydration Pressure Test Unit (up to 14,400 PSI)
• 1 x Siaky Spot welding unit x Siaky Roll Spot/seam welding unit
• 1 x Miller N.C Longitudinal tig welding
• 1 x Merkle Insquare tig welding unit
• 2 x Miller Syncrowave 351 tig welding unit
• 2 x Miller Syncrowave 350 tig welding unit
• 1 x Orbital tube tig welding unit
• 1 x frost sheet metal welding m/c
• 2 x Seifert 200KV x-ray units

The department is fully approved by our customers and the relevant industry bodies.
