Operations Director

As the Operations Director, you would have accountability for operational performance of the business, ensuring that the business is both cost effective and of a high quality.  You will drive the following key measures; delivery schedule adherence, quality, and supplier performance. 

You will also use your experience to improve business performance by driving lean manufacturing initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen and promote these methods within the workplace. 

You will have a strong leadership style with the ability to lead change and articulate your vision for success.  You’ll use your leadership style to improve performance, develop talent within the business and uphold the company’s core values.

Ideally you will have:

  • A proven track record within operations management.

  • Proven track record for delivering  waste and cost reductions

  • Possess a broad background in manufacturing/engineering with a wide range of knowledge on manufacturing and production processes associated with these processes.

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering & technical drawings.

    • Have a working understanding of 

    • Production planning & scheduling, procurement, MRP and stock mgmt. systems

    • Principles and tools of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools within a high volume, high quality manufacturing facility

    • Quality management systems

    • Health and safety best practice and legislation

  • Strong leadership style with the ability to lead change.

  • Proven track record for delivering  waste and cost reductions

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for a demanding and Customer focused working environment.

  • Be able to get things done and make things happen to achieve the aims of production and the business.

  • Possess the ability to implement and manage change in the business.

  • Strong computer skills and competency in basic MS Office applications
