As a Quality Assistant you will be working within a dynamic, cross functional and growing Hyde Aero Products Divisional Quality Department, who strive to improve Quality Management Practices both internally across the wider Hyde Aero Products Division which consists of a further 7 manufacturing, engineering sites.

Main Duties

The Quality Assistant role is aimed towards an individual who is driven and determined to grow within the Hyde Coatings Quality Department. The company will provide thorough, structured training and development opportunities, and therefore prior experience within Quality related roles is desirable but not essential. The aim of the role is to result in the individual progressing towards a Quality Engineers position. Further duties are detailed below:

  • Document configuration control.

  • Reviewing, organising, and verifying documentation for completeness.

  • Inputting and analysing data related to quality control and quality assurance activities.

  • Assisting in preparing reports and presentations.

  • Assisting in managing large projects and updating action trackers.

  • Answering email queries.

  • Supporting staff by undertaking ad-hoc projects when needed.

  • Supporting internal root cause/corrective action investigations.

  • Assisting in seeking out opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • To update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; understanding customer specifications, the Hyde Quality Management System, and learning/developing further knowledge within other key aspects of the internal and Divisional Quality department.

Main Duties

  • Production and maintenance of Key Performance Indicators for Hyde Aero Products and the wider HAP Division.

  • Initiative-taking Quality based problem solving, utilising KPI to drive improvements.

  • Root cause and corrective action analysis, in relation to both product and audit related findings, using Practical Problem-Solving tools, such as 8D, Ishikawa, RCCA 5 Why Analysis

  • Management of non-conforming product and quarantine controls.

  • Supporting with FAIR review and completion in accordance with AS9102 and Business Core Procedures.

  • Supporting with APQP/PPAP review and completion in accordance with AS9145 and Business Core Procedures.

  • Reviewing, organising, and verifying documentation for completeness.

  • Consulting with the Suppliers and Business Units within the Hyde Group.

  • Assisting with Divisional internal audits against the Integrated Management System and customer standards.

  • Lead ‘Supplier Quality Requirement’ reviews, ensuring compliance with our customer quality requirements.

  • Working closely with the Hyde Aero Products Project Department, as a Quality specialist on NPI work packages.

  • Supporting staff by undertaking ad-hoc projects when needed.

  • Assist in seeking out opportunities for continuous improvement.

We are seeking an experienced Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Level II X-Ray to support our commitment to quality and safety. As a CMM Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting jobs at various stages of the machining inspection process (1st off, final inspection and FAIR inspection) in line with customer requirements (capture specific measurements from customer requirements).

You will also be responsible for providing machine operators timely feedback on product non-conformities, highlighting any training needs to supervisors and assist them with any technical queries.

You’ll use your experience to seek out and drive continuous improvements to identify and resolve issues within your control, also contributing towards wider continuous improvement activities.

Preferred Skills

  • Excellent communications skills are imperative.

  • Must have good team working ethic, be highly pro-active and motivated.

  • Ability to read and interpret 3D Models & 2D drawings.

  • Experience of CNC machining is preferred.

  • IT literate, in particular SAP, Microsoft Project, Excel and PowerPoint.

Airframe/Aerospace Fitter

You will be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and have the ability to ensure that the correct equipment is used and fully calibrated. 

Essential Requirements:

  • Must be committed to working safely and comply with the 5S standards in place.

  • Aerospace airframe / structural assembly experience, preferably working within the aerospace industry

  • Ability to read / understand drawings and aerospace specifications.

  • Key processes: drilling, countersinking, riveting, use of sealants, fitting helicoils, bearing, bushes etc.

  • Trade test to be completed as a follow up / 2nd stage interview to demonstrate ability to carry out assembly processes to aerospace quality standards.

 The hours for this role are compressed over four days working 7:00am-4:30pm Monday - Thursday.
