About the opportunity

As a CNC miller you will have experience of operating a range of CNC Milling machines. It is essential that you can set and operate CNC Milling Machines that operate Heidenhein or Siemens  controls. Previous experience of working on Multi Pallet machines would be of benefit.

Ideally you will also have experience of machining different types of materials, primarily Aluminium, Mild Steel and stainless steel. Experience in the Aerospace & Defence would be an advantage.

Naturally you will be a time served apprentice with a recognized qualification such as BTEC/City and Guilds.

This is a day shift role, working Monday to Thursday from 7:30am to 4:00pm and Friday from 7:30am to 12:30pm, with plenty of overtime available.

About the opportunity

SG Instruments Ltd is currently recruiting a CMM Inspector based at one of our bespoke Engineering facilities in Tameside. As an Inspector you will be responsible for both in process inspection and final inspection, operating CMM machines using MCOSMOS software. You’ll also inspect our products using conventional instruments such as bore gauge and thread gauge. Ideally, you will have some programming knowledge/experience.

You’ll also use your experience to support internal driven quality sessions in order to improve the knowledge base of our skilled operators and support Material Review Boards/non-conformance investigations when required.

You will be passionate about Quality standards and be willing to learn and grow through the business.

Essential Skills

Main Duties

  • Carry out material lay-up work using pre-impregnated carbon fibre, glass fibre and wet lay-up techniques.

  • Complete vacuum bagging, curing and autoclave preparation processes to support the manufacture of high-quality composite components.

  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working area, following all company health, safety and housekeeping standards.

 Desired Experience

  • Previous experience in a laminating, composites, aerospace, automotive, marine or high-quality manufacturing environment.

  • Hands-on experience with carbon fibre, glass fibre, pre-preg materials or wet lay-up processes would be advantageous.

  • Experience following technical drawings, job cards, work instructions or standard operating procedures.

  • Background in producing work to tight tolerances, quality standards and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead internal, external, and customer audits, ensuring timely closure of non-conformances.

  • Conduct and oversee FAIRs, PPAP, APQP and other customer deliverables in line with aerospace requirements.

  • Manage supplier quality performance, including audits, assessments, and corrective actions.

  • Drive root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (8D, 5-Whys, Ishikawa, etc).

  • Support new product introduction (NPI) from a quality standpoint, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.

  • Lead quality improvement projects to enhance manufacturing efficiency and reduce defects.

  • Provide mentorship and support to Quality Inspectors and Technicians.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain teams to uphold quality standards and customer satisfaction.

  • Documentation & Standards: Ensure all quality documentation, procedures, and records are accurate and accessible.

  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Monitor key quality metrics, identify trends, and provide clear reports to senior management.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Quality Engineer (ideally 5+ years) within aerospace fabrication or welding environments.

  • In-depth knowledge of AS9100, NADCAP special processes, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.

  • Strong background in FAIRs, PPAP, RCCA, and auditing (internal or lead auditor qualification preferred).

  • Practical understanding of fabrication and welding processes.

  • Confident in interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications.

  • Skilled in problem-solving and process improvement using structured methodologies (Lean/Six Sigma desirable).

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including with customers and regulatory bodies.

  • Proficiency with MS Office and quality management systems (Q-Pulse or similar).

Desirable Qualifications

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent).

  • Lead Auditor Certification (AS9100 or ISO 9001).

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or similar continuous improvement qualification.

The Project Coordinator has a key role within the Hyde Aero Products Projects Office, acting as a central point of contact between customers, Key Account Managers, Project Engineers, Commercial, Quality, Engineering, Stores and the manufacturing business units. The role supports the controlled delivery of customer orders and project activity by maintaining clear communication, accurate orderbook information, timely escalation and disciplined follow-up of actions, risks and opportunities. Working within Hyde’s project management routines, the Project Coordinator helps ensure that customer commitments are understood, internal stakeholders are aligned, and delivery, quality, cost and service expectations are actively managed.

Main Duties

  • Act as a professional point of contact for allocated customers, supporting day-to-day communication and maintaining customer confidence.

  • Support the Key Account Manager, Project Manager and wider project team in delivering customer work packages in line with agreed requirements.

  • Maintain accurate orderbook visibility, ensuring priorities, due dates, customer requirements and internal actions are clearly understood and controlled.

  • Co-ordinate with Hyde business units, Stores, Commercial, Engineering, Quality and external suppliers to support delivery performance and issue resolution.

  • Monitor customer orders from receipt through to delivery, proactively identifying risks to schedule, quality, cost or customer satisfaction.

  • Support contract review activity, purchase order review and customer requirement checks to ensure orders are processed to the required standard.

  • Raise, track and follow up actions from customer, project, production, quality and stakeholder meetings.

As the Quality Assistant you will be working within a dynamic, cross functional and growing Hyde Aero Products Divisional Quality Department, who strive to improve Quality Management Practices both internally across the wider Hyde Aero Products Division which consists of a further seven manufacturing, engineering sites.

The Quality Assistant role is aimed towards an individual who is driven and determined to grow within the Hyde Aero Products Quality Department. As the company will provide thorough training and development opportunities, this individual should progress to higher Quality Assurance related roles and therefore prior experience within Quality Management roles is not essential. The role is advertised to coincide alongside a training and development plan which will result in the individual progressing towards a Quality Engineers position, with growth to further positioned roles also available (and sought after).  Main Duties

  • Initiative-taking Quality based problem solving, utilising KPI to drive improvements.

  • Root cause and corrective action analysis, in relation to both product and audit related findings, using Practical Problem-Solving tools, such as 8D, Ishikawa, RCCA 5 Why Analysis.

  • Management of non-conforming product and quarantine controls.

  • Supporting with FAIR review and completion in accordance with AS9102 and Business Core Procedures.

  • Supporting with APQP/PPAP review and completion in accordance with AS9145 and Business Core Procedures.

  • Reviewing, organising, and verifying documentation for completeness.

  • Consulting with the Suppliers and Business Units within the Hyde Group.

  • Assisting with Divisional internal audits against the Integrated Management System and customer standards.

As a CNC Turner, you will be responsible for programming, setting, and operating Mazak CNC lathes to produce precision aerospace components to tight tolerances and exacting quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program, set, and operate Mazak CNC lathes using Mazatrol controls.

  • Manufacture complex aerospace components from technical drawings.

  • Work to AS9100 and aerospace quality standards.

  • Conduct in-process inspection using precision measuring equipment.

  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to ensure compliance and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a CNC Turner in a precision or aerospace engineering environment.

  • Strong knowledge of Mazak machines and Mazatrol programming.

  • Ability to read and interpret aerospace engineering drawings.

  • Familiarity with quality standards such as AS9100.

  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

About the Opportunity

North West Aerotooling is currently recruiting a Toolmaker/Patternmaker based at one of our bespoke Engineering facilities in Dukinfield Manchester. As a Toolmaker/Patternmaker, you will be responsible for the manufacture of tooling for the Aerospace and Automotive industry.

Main Duties

  • Manufacture and assembly. Occasional offsite work may be required.

Essential Skills

  • Familiar with Pattern Shop and Toolroom Machinery & a good understanding of Engineering Drawings.

Desired Skills

  • Manufacture/Assembly/Fitting Skills with good attention to detail.

Desired Experience

  • Aerospace experience beneficial but not essential.
