About the Opportunity

The Quality Assurance Engineer will form part of the project team and be responsible for quality compliance of the organisation to customer and regulatory requirements, on a wide range of quality assurance and control activities.

The successful candidate will work within the Quality / Technical department supporting the organisation in ensuring compliance to Regulatory and Integrated Management System requirements. The position is open to both experienced and entry level Quality personnel.

Main Duties

  • Reviewing and understanding customer specific project quality procedures.

  • Producing upfront quality documentation such as ITP’s (inspection & test plans).

  • Compiling & maintaining project quality documentation within the LTQR (Life time quality records) file and ensuring concurrency with the manufacturing process.

  • Managing the customer approval process of sub-con quality documents such as NDT & weld procedures.

  • Arranging and managing both on & off-site client inspections.

  • Management of the calibration system & process.

  • Control of organisation stamps, vision tests and competency records.

  • Support Hyde Group quality team with both internal and external audits.

 Desired Skills

  • Proven track record in either a Quality Assurance or Inspection function in either aerospace, nuclear or similarly regulated sector.

  • Strong knowledge of EN9100 or ISO9001 Regulatory requirements.

  • IT Literate - Microsoft Office Software.

  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills with the ability to solve problems.

  • Strong written and verbal communications.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with constantly changing priorities.

  • Self-Motivated and positive mindset to make continual improvement personally and for the organisation.

Desired Experience

  • Minimum NVQ level 3 or equivalent in mechanical engineering.

  • Experience working within the nuclear industry at sub-contract level, with good understanding of the quality process.

  • Quality professional with working experience in a Quality Engineering function.

  • Knowledgeable in AS9100 QMS requirements.
