About the Opportunity
As a Project Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of delivering high-value programmes—working closely with customers and internal teams to keep schedules on track, manage risk, and protect Hyde Group’s reputation for quality and delivery. This is a hands-on, visible role where your organisation and communication skills will make a direct impact.
Full guidance and training provided
You won’t be expected to know everything from day one. You’ll receive structured onboarding, on-the-job coaching and support from the Senior Project Manager, Project Director and wider specialist teams. We’ll guide you through our processes, systems and customer requirements, with training tailored to your experience so you can build confidence quickly and progress in the role.
Responsibilities:
Visit internal and external manufacturing sites to track progress and identify issues, risks and opportunities.
Own the technical elements of the document control platform, ensuring accurate, up-to-date records.
Ensure the change control process is followed and fully documented.
Maintain project trackers and provide clear daily status updates.
Prepare timely, accurate information to support project reporting and performance reviews.
Provide regular updates to the Senior Project Manager and Projects Director, escalating issues early.
Deliver weekly progress updates to the customer, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
Create and maintain the project schedule, highlighting dependencies and key milestones.
Essential Skills
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Project, Excel and PowerPoint.
Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Solid understanding of core engineering principles.
Experience in a project and/or customer-facing role within manufacturing/engineering.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships.
Commercial awareness and an understanding of cost, schedule and risk drivers.
Comfortable producing and interpreting KPIs and project reporting.
Flexible to travel and work at customer sites as required, with a base at our Projects Office in Manchester.
Hold (or be able to obtain) Security Clearance to the required level.
Motivated to learn, develop and progress your career.
Full UK driving licence.
